1. Introduction
Occlusion ("we," "us," "the Platform") respects your privacy and operates on a principle of minimal, purpose-limited data collection. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how payment data is handled by our Merchant of Record, Paddle.
By using occlusionengine.com and the Service, you consent to the practices described in this Policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to operate the terminal:
- Account Data: Email address, user identifier (UID), and authentication metadata required to provision and secure your account.
- Profile & Workspace Data: Custom watchlists, narrative inputs, saved terminal configurations, and operator preferences stored within your siloed user profile.
- System Usage Data: Limited telemetry regarding terminal performance, latency, and feature usage to maintain reliability and optimize delivery.
- Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and log data collected automatically for security, fraud prevention, and diagnostics.
3. Payment Information — Paddle as Merchant of Record
Occlusion does not collect, process, or store credit card numbers, bank account details, or full payment instrument data on our servers.
All financial transactions are conducted by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. Paddle collects and processes payment information and transaction records necessary to complete purchases, manage subscriptions, calculate applicable taxes, and fulfill Merchant of Record obligations. Paddle's handling of your payment data is governed by Paddle's privacy policy and applicable financial regulations. Occlusion does not receive or store your full payment credentials.
We may receive limited billing metadata from Paddle (such as subscription status, plan tier, and transaction identifiers) solely to provision or revoke access to the Service.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information exclusively to:
- Authenticate users and enforce access controls;
- Deliver, maintain, and improve the terminal and intelligence surfaces;
- Personalize your workspace configurations and watchlists;
- Monitor system performance and security;
- Communicate service-related notices (e.g., access changes, critical updates);
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell, rent, lease, or trade your personal data or behavioral profiles to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
5. Data Silos & Confidentiality
Your operator configurations, internal watchlists, and narrative inputs remain siloed within your authenticated profile. We do not publicly display private workspace data or distribute your proprietary terminal configurations to other users without your explicit action (where such features exist).
6. Global Infrastructure & Third-Party Processors
Occlusion is delivered through distributed global cloud hosting, database routing, authentication, and analytics infrastructure. We do not publish physical business premises or regional headquarters for operational correspondence. Regulatory alignment for payments and consumer transactions is administered through Paddle, our Merchant of Record, within its global compliance framework.
Third-party processors access data only as necessary to perform services on our behalf and are contractually required to implement appropriate technical and organizational safeguards consistent with international data protection standards for electronic services.
7. Data Retention & Security
We retain account and workspace data for as long as your subscription or account remains active, and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes. We implement industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest; however, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
Under applicable international data protection frameworks for electronic services, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data Occlusion holds. Requests may be submitted through account settings or by email to freneticdevelopers@gmail.com. Payment and invoice data held by Paddle must be requested directly from Paddle as the Merchant of Record for transaction processing.
9. International Data Processing
Your information may be processed across global infrastructure nodes used to deliver low-latency terminal access. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers consistent with standards applicable to international SaaS and digital service providers.
10. Changes & Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date of May 2026 or later. Continued use of the Occlusion Service constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
